Project Description for Work Placement
They are looking for a Junior project manager for at least 6 months to assist the main project managers with all facets of their work.
Day to Day Tasks
- Assisting the Project Managers with the management of single language or multilingual projects from receipt of the order from the customer to final delivery.
- Liason with the linguists
- Checking the CVs and sending out tests to linguists
- Editing of original and translated texts
- Production of style and concept sheets
- Detailed quality checking of all documents, including typeset documents and web pages
- Preperation of glossaries and Translation memories in a variety of languages
- Working within agreed project deadlines
- Any other duties as may reasonably be required
Skills Required
- Excellent organisational skills and great attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task across a range of projects
- Good spoken and written knowledge of one or more languages other than the native language
- Good written and verbal skills and an excellent telephone manner
- Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint
Aim of Placement
This is an excellent opportunity for a person studying languages or with Translation studies to learn about working within a translation agency. They are also interested in talking to people, who are studying Psychology with a language.
